Review on ๐ŸŽค Enhanced Audio-Technica PRO 35 Clip-on Cardioid Condenser Microphone for Instruments by Deshaun Fisher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great sound, durable with proper care. For the price unbeatable. Make sure the engineer walks towards him like a phantom.

As a professional trumpeter who plays live 2-3 times a week, I haven't found a better clip. The sound is great for the price. The low-frequency switch is very useful in order not to transmit to the public every hitting, tapping and draining of the water key. When we record live performances, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how lifelike I sound through this mic. If you didn't know better you'd think I could play haha. I've taken my PRO-35 on cross country tours and it survived easily despite being stuffed into a gig bag and abandoned. Back of the coach. It's a life saver when you play the horn in a rock band. Most of the smaller venues we've played at were designed for 2-3 people on stage and the lapel mic meant no mic stand was required, reducing my floor space significantly. Just make sure the sound engineer knows how to give you phantom power. It stopped working 6 months after this tour but the repair covered the warranty period. (Honestly, the tech was pretty drunk at that gig, so I'm not even 100% sure it broke. Long story.) I now carry it in a hard carrying case that I snagged on a crappy cheap Behringer condenser mic have borrowed. Used for podcasts and fits perfectly in a pocket. So barring a catastrophic accident, this mic should last forever. What was a little annoying at first was the XLR input. It's quite heavy and there's no indication of where to place it while playing. On my first gig with a mic, I just put the input in my pocket, which didn't work the way I wanted it to. So I bought a small pipe clamp and a small gas station key clip with nylon strap (it originally had a cheap compass). I then threaded the nylon strap through the tie and attached it to the XLR input housing. Now I can just clip it to my belt while gaming and it looks like it was designed that way. wireless system, buy. It does the job.

Hey it works well, but clamp design could be better for the violin
