Easy to use, read and remove codes

Tried on my husband's 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser. It still didn't have a check engine light, just a check. Bought for the future if a problem arises. But the screen was bright and clear, easy to read. All you had to do was plug it in, very easy to use. There we have the possibility to read the code and remove the code. Extremely handy for those who have never used one of these readers. This is a very good product.

Impressed with this scanner

Bought because my Toyota Corolla was in a flood. The water was up to thirty inches high around the vehicle. After replacing the ECM, I knew other issues would arise. The device gave out not only the obd2 number, but also an unexpected description. I figured I would have to spend a lot of time on the internet because most of these devices just give you a number. With the help of this scanner I identified all the problems and after fixing them my Corolla drove like new again. This made it easier…

Worth spending a few bucks more for a bigger screen

I was debating whether to go with the cheaper option or pay extra for the screen. The large screen makes maneuvering easy, and more importantly, many of the codes are explained on screen so you can understand them immediately rather than searching for them. It has already paid off to visit a mechanic, auto repair shop or even a dealer. Especially if you just need to change the air filter or tighten the gas cap. My car has a tendency to constantly generate airflow despite post-cleaning and over…

Easy code scanning and clearing

This is my first OBD2 scanner so I can't compare it to other more expensive models. However, I bought it to read and clear the "Check Engine" light code on my Volvo XC90. It plugged in easily and turned on immediately. The OSD was easy to follow and within seconds I was able to read and clear the code as well as view all available vehicle information. Please note that the scanner does not require its own battery - it is powered by the vehicle when connected to the vehicle's OBD2 connector. I…

Clears Codes Other Scanners Won't Clear

I first bought a FIXD scanner only to find that it failed to clear the specific code that was causing the check engine light on my Sprinter. After taking it to Mercedes to have the code decoded I found that it was a minor component causing the error and didn't want to spend money on the outrageous review the dealer gave me. But I wanted the "Check Engine" light to go out and the Mercedes not to turn it off unless I fixed it. Well problem solved. This scanner will clear the code for a failed…

PSID FOR MYSELF I USE THIS

Bought for $22. The part recommended to me by people who know cars very well was well over $100. Turns out the problem wasn't what I thought and was told, but I could fix it myself for less than $15. As I already wrote, the code reader immediately paid for itself. I have a good general understanding of car and truck engines for those who have not trained or worked in the field, but I am definitely not a mechanic and cannot diagnose these things myself. To me it just makes sense to have a code…

Does what it's supposed to do I guess

I've never seen an ODB2 version but after some starting problems I was hoping there would be a diagnostic number in the car which would help. The car didn't start for 2 days and NOTHING was saved? no Nothing. The device displayed the VIN and other "codes" associated with the car and all menus worked fine. I adjusted the engine, let it run for a few minutes, it started running less smoothly but not erratically, but there are no codes. Have been registered. The emissions menu said everything was…
