Great for tuning. the best in electrics

the need to tune carbureted engines. Easy to connect if a header connector is already in place, but can be plugged into the exhaust pipe if required (less accurate the farther from the engine).

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Sensor not working: Electrical

I think the sensor was damaged during or before shipping. The sensor turns on and counts down, the sensor heats up, but my car reads 17.0 when idling in any traffic jam in my car. When I disconnect the sensor and turn on the car it reads 15.3 - 15.4. I'll apply for a Revain guarantee and see what happens.

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Works as it should. 5 Stars.

After buying 2 AEM AFR meters for just the first one with a bad sensor and then replacing it with a bad sensor, I returned both and bought this one to go with the AEM units substitute . I wish I had bought that first. No problem with that. Going forward I'll stick with AutoMeter and forget about AEM sensors.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

It works. Also seems accurate

After trying 2 different AEM gauges and both failing after about 10 minutes I doubted this one would work. I gave it a try anyway and was happy to see that it actually reads the values. I'll have to see how long the sensor lasts over time, but it's already outlasted AEM by a factor of 10 (not difficult, only 10 minutes of use).

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Updates

A good product for tuning AFR petrol engines.

This AFR was easy to install and had great instructions. Its diameter is 2 1/16 inches, which is a bit confusing according to Revain's description. You cannot change the AFR ratio if you want to use E50 or E85. Autometer makes broadband that you can change, but it's $100 more expensive. The output is in the 0-4V range so you can use the broadband output to register the AFR in your tuning software. I want the output to be 0-5V. This would make tuning much more accurate and many more math PIDs…

It works well, but the designers decided to poke fun at it.

High latency, only 1Hz updates. The countdown at the start is annoying. Instead of starting immediately, it counts down from 15 to zero within that number of seconds. On a cold start this isn't a problem - the O2 sensor needs to come up to operating temperature anyway for it to work - but on a warm start, for example after you've slipped off the outside of the track, parked the car and then reassembled it - unnecessary and thoughtless. The instructions are useless. Half of the wires on the…
