Worked great on my Explorer 4.6L

Installed on my 2006 Explorer 4x4 with 4.6L v8. A little nervous (known issues with removing spark plugs on this engine) but all went well! Now it literally runs like new. Changed at 90,000km. I'll leave them here for another 90,000 and switch again.

Good replacement 2 piece plug

I recently bought a 2006 Mustang GT which I was having acceleration issues with. The car has 88,000 miles so I thought it might have the original spark plugs but that would mean it was the infamous Motorcraft two piece spark plugs which could snap when removed. Took out the original forks and replaced them with HT1s which are an improved one-piece fork. The car drives great.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Sad hardware

I recommend changing spark plugs when they are very hot.

I have a 2007 Ford Mustang GT 118k. I recommend changing spark plugs when they are very hot to avoid damaging them. This is the only way carbon can be released. The gap was so big I could almost slide my finger in between it, and yet the car missed just once. After replacing the spark plugs with the same ones, I hit 130 mph with no problems.

Pros
  • Complete Set
Cons
  • Modern

A special fork that does what it should.

I had a broken plug on my 1999 Ford Expedition and fixed the problem with a Dorman repair kit 42025 which had a threaded insert that went into the head and then a long plug that went in. This is the type of connector that came with the kit and I haven't found another connector that works, although there probably is one somewhere. If I didn't want to use the same plug for years, there wasn't much choice on that issue... and it works great, so no complaints.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Damaged

Good product but take your time removing and installing buds

I've read all the horror stories about broken head buds. Make sure you blow all the dirt out of the spark plug holes. I highly recommend using a really good penetrating oil on a warm engine, while you spray the penetrating oil let it dry for at least 30 minutes. Do not pull out the plugs by force, work slowly, just loosen them little by little and then tighten them, keep doing this until the plug comes out. Invest in a socket made for a Ford. they are cheap enough.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Sad packaging

This one was defective.

I have always used Autolite spark plugs in my Ford vehicles as they are the same as Motorcraft and have had no complaints over the years. I just ordered a plug for a cylinder that was misfiring due to a bad coil and didn't really need a plug but figured I'd replace it anyway. This connector I received was faulty - there was a bad spot on the tip of the insulator. , visible as a dark dent or crack in the ceramic. I am giving 3 stars based on previous satisfaction with Autolite products and…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
