Not the same advert picture

The good news is that the brush was delivered on time. The bad news is that the brush didn't look like it did in the display image. In the picture on display, the brush was dark wood and the bristles were black. I have a very light brush with white bristles. Also, the brush didn't have the Aveda engraving on the handle as shown on the Aveda website. #disappointed #back

  • Quality construction

Not what it should be

I remember this being done better. My brush came with two teeth missing and the feeling was nothing like it was 10 years ago. it felt too light and cheap. What does aveda do? making cheap junk wasn't what they were known for, but I think they are known for now. Too weak for the price.

I have had this brush for at least 14 years. She is worth her money!

I bought this brush around 2002. My hairdresser used it on me and I just loved it. I have hair almost to my waist, it's difficult to comb it. I have to work on it for a few minutes and it hurts with most brushes. I have no idea why, but this brush works incredibly well. It doesn't pull like other brushes and the bristles are really nice on my scalp. But somehow it solves itself with very little effort. My mum has shoulder length hair but after using my comb she asked for one for Christmas andโ€ฆ

I've been using this brush for 20 years and will use it until I die.

This is the best brush in the world. I'm not exaggerating. I bought the first one about 20 years ago and haven't used any other brush since. To the point that at my childhood home, my mom had a dot of pink nail polish on her nails that no one could get away with. in a crowded suitcase - the combination wasn't good, but it probably could have happened if I'd been a little slower). Others have come on a panic order when I can't find them or have them in my luggage. I still have one from 12 yearsโ€ฆ

Looks good and feels good

What a cool brush! Perfect size for long straight hair. I had one I bought straight from an Aveda showroom 15 years ago that ended up breaking so I bought this one. I have fine hair and this model seems to grab individual hairs between the base of the stubble and the stiffer, flexible rubber base of the stubble and then pull the hair out of my head as I finish the pull. That never happened with my old original. I brush my hair squeamishly off my brushes, but maybe the bristles don't grip myโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Weight

This brush was the most reliable brush I have ever owned. I'm VERY picky about my comb and I LOVE how it handles my thick hair. Looks great and will stand the test of time. I bought the exact same brush at a Las Vegas salon 16 years ago. I've been using the same brush for years (with regular cleaning of course!). Finally the wood at the top broke and my husband replaced it for me. This has been the most reliable brush I have ever owned and I would highly recommend it.

THE BEST brush, look no further

I love this brush I have fine thin shoulder length hair but this brush will work on any hair regardless of length, thickness etc. It is very well made, with a heavy and strong handle/base and stiff but soft bristles. The bristles are very long, reaching and massaging the scalp. It disperses oils throughout the hair, preventing them from building up on the scalp and preventing frizz. He easily untangles tangles and gets rid of the headboard of the bed. It's AMAZING easy to comb and it flows soโ€ฆ

Arrived with bristles missing

Not sure if this is a genuine AVEDA flat brush. I have my old one which is much heavier than this new one. Almost looks like plastic. I didn't come back because of the refund issue otherwise I would have. I will probably not use this brush and will buy it from the AVEDA shelf.

Pros
  • There is something wrong
Cons
  • There are imperfections

Not worth the money, lost my stubble like crazy!

So many bristles fell on the floor on the first day that we assume it was defective. Not the same quality as before. My previous Aveda flat brush lasted me almost 20 years! In the end, the handle couldn't take it anymore and broke. This one is lighter and not as stretchy. Very disappointed. My daughter and I have straight hair. This brush should do the trick. Bought a Conair paddle brush from CVS for a small price and had no problems.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model
