I should have guessed by the price. I bought several globes at once and the $141 and $45.33 versions looked the same. Both either didn't work (the projector turned itself off after a few minutes) or only lasted 200 hours before the same thing happened.

DO NOT DO THIS. If you have a good projector. Don't bother buying a cheap fake lamp. I bought one in November 2013 and it started fading in January 2016 and eventually just died. BUY THE REAL. You get what you pay for.

I bought an Awo bulb instead of a genuine JVC part (which cost almost $400) to save money. So far everything is working fine. Time will tell if the lamp lasts as long or stays as bright as the JVC lamp.

I bought this lamp to save money. Died after 3 months, replaced under warranty. The replacement just died after about 4 months. I think I will buy a real lamp.

Lamp worked well initially. My projector is only minimally used - bought in December 2013 and broke in December 2015, but it only used me 498 hours. When I removed the lamp, pieces of glass fell out of the housing.

The lamp worked perfectly but became too dim to continue using for almost 300 hours. For what it's worth, it's not the end of the world, but still.

Mine took less than 5 minutes***Update To be fair I've had mixed success with this product. One fell through immediately and the other I had done fairly well with good color and brightness. Your customer service seems pretty good and I appreciate your follow up with customers. For the price and what they do I would give them a try rather than paying an exorbitant price to JVC.
