They are made from the same inner mesh and outer fabric as regular men's swim trunks. I'm 5ft 9in, 180lbs and size XL fits perfectly. The waist covers the belly button, the length along the inseam does not ride up when you walk. I have now ordered two more pairs.

I'm 5ft 200lbs and ordered 2XL and they seem to be AVERAGE! I have ordered many clothes based on the reviews but these board shorts are a HIT or LOST in size. I plan to keep them for guests who come and don't have a bathing suit because the material is excellent quality, they dry quickly and are very soft.

I ordered these shorts to wear on kayaks. I was hoping they would fit as my size was not on the chart. Based on my measurements I figured 3X might work. I was right! I'm 5'9 and weigh about 200 pounds. The shorts fit perfectly. The quality is good and I like the length (about mid-knee). I look forward to wearing them. I will probably order another color.

Don't size up unless you're a hippie. I increased the size based on the reviews and the shorts are a little saggy around my waist. I have to tie the belt up so they lay flat. The waist is comfortable but has a lot of stretch so I think I could have gone down my normal size. Rolling the waist gives me a lower fit than I would like. The quality is really good and I like to keep them to myself, but if I buy another pair later I'll get my usual size.

Ladies. 5'4" 140 lbs. I read a lot of reviews on these shorts and found that they run really small. I usually take medium so I ordered large. Too small. Otherwise the quality is very good, the fabric dries quickly , I like that they have a lining, pockets etc. I've seen negative reviews about the velcro and drawstring closures but haven't found any issues with them other than not being able to close shorts because they are too small.

My pants are exactly an 8th size, a bit too wide in the back, medium legs (not skinny, not chunky). I ordered the medium and although the upper was a little tight for me, overall it was ok, my feet were very tight on me. Too uncomfortable to wear. It's a shame because I really like the fabric and the overall design. The length is perfect, not too short and not too long. However, if you have very skinny legs, this will likely work for you.
