Used it on a leaking 2004 Chevy Impala.

Used on a 2004 Chevy Impala with a leaking head gasket. The car ran out of coolant and overheated after about 20-30 miles before needing topping up. I was skeptical but the cost of replacing the head gasket was way more than the car was worth. So I had nothing to lose other than the cost of buying this product. Following the instructions seems to have solved the problem - for now. I've driven the car about 500 miles since the treatment and it hasn't overheated yet. As far as I know the coolant…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Brief manual

I am a car dealer. I made the mistake of buying an expensive, low mileage Chrysler 300 at an online auction. What I didn't know was a leaking cylinder head gasket. Our mechanic told me it would cost me $2,600 to fix this error "if the head doesn't need to be milled". i felt bad Before going to the $2600.00 option, I decided to try the HG-1 Head Seal bar. IT WORKS OUT! I drive this car 25 miles one way and a fourth to work every day. I intentionally ran the A/C motor at MAX and the gasket held…

Use caution when using this product

Since my old Voyager has overheating issues and a leaking head gasket, I used this stuff as intended. I got the exact opposite effect as advertised for this product. My overheating problem was annoyed. I went to the shop to check and replace the antifreeze. Many metal-like fragments were found in the hoses/cabin heater filters. They flared up and pulled out as many blocking shards as they could. The problem with the heating of the car is now solved. But the product of this bar did not help at…

That does not work. Probably caused more problems than helped.

Now, like everyone watching this material, you're wondering if it will solve your problem. I have some ethical issues with using it to fix a car just to sell it as I think it's ethical to sell a car without disclosing that this stuff is in the coolant. As for me, I had what I thought. There was a fairly small head gasket leak that allowed gases to enter the coolant, eventually causing the coolant to overflow. It will happen after the car has warmed up for 15-30 minutes, especially if you drive…

Ave Maria in a bottle

Let's face it, when you think about it you're looking for Hail Mary in a bottle and this product provides just that. I put it on a 2000 Subaru Forester 2.5L. This engine has over 230,000 miles on the clock and is suffering from a cracked head or block due to overheating due to a head gasket failure. This was the third set of gaskets on this particular engine and if you are familiar with Scoobys this mileage should not surprise you. Unfortunately this time it was not possible to catch the seals…

  • Very good price

  • The list will be long.

2 months and so far so good (knock on wood).

Before attempting this, the check engine light came on due to a misfire in cylinder #6 on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma (260,000 miles). I confirmed the head gasket problem by doing a cylinder leak test which showed a slight loss of pressure and removing the radiator cap showed bubbles in the fluid. I was evaluating a head gasket replacement and decided to buy a salvage engine with less than 100,000 miles on it. Someone suggested I try it, which I did. Bought and installed on 01.05. I followed the…

Use with care - spare parts

My heater core and radiators are definitely clogged. I had previously tried their other headgasket sealant without success so I drained, rinsed and added this. Now I have no heat but honestly I think my heater core used to be partially blocked as I only got warm at low fan speeds. Now I have no heat at all. Worse still, my engine temperature is 10 degrees warmer than before treatment and increases noticeably when it warms up and I'm stuck in traffic. I think my radiator is now significantly…

Life Saving Product

My sister's PT Cruiser overheated. I've tried all the simple regular repairs like the thermostat. Twice after minor repairs I was sure it was fixed. I could let it idle for several hours with no problems. But during a long test drive at high speed, it overheated. I finally realized that there were small bubbles. This is much easier to see with one of those funnels that go where the lid would normally be. As the funnel filled with water, I could see a constant stream of bubbles. The cylinder…
