BARSKA Moisture Absorber Dehumidifier: Effective, Safe, and Versatile for Home Closets, Safes, and Cars - Blue Review

Has been in the safe for several months, opened, the documents were damp but never turned pink. It doesn't seem to be working.

Five stars so far: I have just received my order for this item. The first thing that struck me is that the instructions say 4 minutes in the microwave to dry it out. On the outside (back) of the box. Not to mention 600 watts. No wonder some people experience a burning sensation. You need to update the package.

The manufacturer specified 4 minutes in the 600W microwave for drying. I made this today and it burned a hole in the floor, the beans spilled everywhere and almost started a fire in the microwave along with the horrible smell. The concept is good but they need to reduce the recommended microwave time or change the material used. The humidity indicator didn't seem to work either.

Works? The time will show. One thing is for sure, I carefully searched the Internet for a picture of this product with a pink indicator - it needs to be charged. Update a month later: reason. The indicator picture is hard to find because it is hard to take. The indicator turns very light pink when charging is required, which is why I found. I set the microwave level to 600W, let it cook for 4 minutes and it's done.

I bought two of these dehumidifiers because they were "reusable" dehumidifiers. However, they didn't work at all. I've been using DampRid products since we moved into our lake house four years ago and they've worked great, but I've always replaced them every month or two. I could see the moisture they sucked from the air. After two months of use, Barska dehumidifiers have never turned pink to show they are removing air and moisture. I do not recommend this. Okay. We've been here almost two months now. We live in an RV all the time and humidity is the death of these RV boxes so we bought one of these to see if it would help. Nothing. Put it in a bathroom where there is a lot of humidity. Nothing. Place it in a closed compartment below where moisture will seep in (for unknown reason). Nothing. I have not updated this device since January and the weather is very hot. So I put it in the microwave for four minutes and it came out with a hole in it! Obviously you'll have to wait for the indicator to turn pink. OK. However, this is not in the paragraph with other instructions. To be honest it's on the Barska support page. I've used several sizes and brands of reusable desiccant bags and this is the best I've tried. The relative humidity in the southeastern United States can be very high at times, and microwave desiccant packs can be difficult and time consuming to control, maintain, and use. This is a dream.
