Fisher-Price Basic Fun Musical Ferris Wheel Toy: Fun and Engaging Musical Play for Kids! Review

Fun retro toy. The "little people" are shorter than the standard figures from other Fisher Price sets and the standard figures will not fit if you decide to swap them out. However, you can use shorter figures in other FP playsets. Adult help is required to place the figures on the swing seats and wind-up mechanism. The 1 year old has repeatedly turned the ferris wheel the wrong way, but it still works fine as long as it seems pretty solid. Probably the best play value for preschoolers.

Given to my 2 year old granddaughter for her birthday. The figures are difficult to fit into the ferris wheel shells/carts - too heavy for them and often difficult for adults. Maybe they'll loosen up a bit over time. I think maybe people's "bodies" could be longer and then just push into cars instead of pushing to lock. Music is a pleasant melody; the handle is difficult to turn. It's overall fun, but the level of frustration might be too great to sustain their attention after a while.

My niece loved this toy when she was 2 years old. My granddaughter loves it too. The age difference is about 40 years. I was a bit disappointed however, one of the figures was missing from the box but it would have been more expensive to send it back than accepting it with just 3 figures instead of 4. UPDATE: discontinued from today. No music, no movement. I am disappointed in this toy. The handle is difficult to turn even for an adult, but it can become easier with time. However, the most frustrating part of this toy is the mapping between the people and the ferris wheel seats. You have to push the little guys in there quite a bit, and still they don't sit as well as the old guys on the old toys. And modern little men definitely DO NOT INTERFERE with this toy.
