Solid carbide tools offer long tool life and faster cutting speeds than other substrates, but are more brittle and must be used with rigid toolholding systems. Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. Applicable for steel, cast iron, nonferrous material. Made in the USA.
These carbide cutting tools are the perfect industrial-grade solution for those looking to enhance their milling skills. The uncoated finish allows for a smoother cut, making it more efficient and precise. The tools are also durable and able to withstand the demands of heavy-duty use. The only downside is that the uncoated finish may cause slight discoloration on certain materials, but this can be easily remedied. Overall, a great addition to any machining toolbox.
Pros
Efficient, Durable
Cons
May cause slight discoloration on certain materials.
Not as shown. The one I received only had cutting edges on one side and only a shank on the other side. I've now noticed that the item description says "Special Features: Single Sided" which isn't that "special" when the picture shows the double sided version. My mistake and now I know I need to read the description more closely and not pay attention to the pictures
Pros
Uncoated tools only have a base without further processing or coating and are suitable for a wide range of applications.
