Purchased in November to plug into my Jeep's center console and connect to my Android car head unit. Easy to install and worked great for 3 months. But then both ports just fell apart. The port just separated leaving a plastic tab in the cable. I always leave my cords plugged in, so there might be a dozen or two inserts. These ports are not strong enough for significant use in an automotive environment.

I purchased an earlier version of this cable to bring the main unit's rear USB ports to the front. The USB port I used the most (one connected to CarPlay on my main unit, the other to the Android equivalent) wore out and broke after a year of plugging/unplugging the cable. Given that I left the USB-to-Lighting cable plugged in most of the time, this was a disappointment. I had to remove the head unit and output the CarPlay connector some other way.

I needed this for my Eonon Android Headunit. Eonon has a wiring harness with 2 USB ports. So I was happy to find this dual USB port. Seems to be working fine. Although the ports are very narrow. I feel like I have to hold it down when unplugging the flash drive because they are so tight. They also don't plug in as deeply as many other USB ports. I thought mine was defective because it was very difficult to connect a sandisk stick, but I tested it and it works.

I installed it in the car, but at first I didn't try to put the plugs in the connectors. We managed to break both blue tabs within 5 minutes by trying to connect Apple iPhone's standard USB cable. Yes, we know they only go in one direction. The metal corners of the inside radius of each connector are too round (too big a radius), not square enough, and just snapped trying to push the USB cable in. I wanted to add USB ports on the dashboard to my second radio. I also wanted something that would give me two USB ports and a nice clean package. Unfortunately I chose this product. perfect. Run and plugged in the USB from my SONY XAV 5000, concerned about the 3ft length and carplay. Sony recommends not plugging extension cords into the USB, they are long enough already but cannot be installed cleanly and flush. I can confirm in my app that Apple Carplay works great with it when connected to a XAV 5000.
