Educational, easy and fun for the whole family

I bought this for my little grandkids as a "do it with grandma, mom or dad" set. We work together and it's been great. The boys' favorite plane is the space shuttle because they know it best, and they were fascinated by other flying machines as well, with the Wright brothers' plane being their second favorite plane. The pieces in the set are well made and a more mature child should be able to do it themselves, but you'll definitely need an adult to either put it together or help with it…

Pros
  • Includes the famous F-18 Blue Angels Hornet
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Fun set to build with preschoolers

This was a fun set that I used within a few days. with a kindergarten child. It comes in a reinforced BOX, which is comfortable to the touch and protects fragile parts from damage in transit. The INSTRUCTIONS are pretty clear, although we found putting the Wright Brothers flyer together a bit tricky (notes below). My only complaint is that the Wright Brothers flyer doesn't actually fly. It's more of a model. If you try to fly, it will immediately rise and stop. If you manage to make yours fly…

Pros
  • This set covers the history of flight from the first flight of the Wright Brothers plane at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to the Space Shuttle
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Recreational activity, not exactly educational

Although I agree that if the child correctly put the pieces of each of the four planes together, the planes would at least fly some distance . I totally disagree with a child learning anything about the major milestones of a flight other than the names of different planes. I thought there should be a booklet that at…
