Affordable and gets the job done

and other PLAs I have used. The color variety is nice though, definitely good for a beginner to try. This is one of the cheapest kits I've come across and for the most part it works so it's unlikely to go to waste, but I'll probably try something else next time!

Check your sizes! Almost False Hype

I bought these to refill my kids 3D Doodler and actually "" into the entered search engine. I saw this and thought what a great deal and ordered. When my kids finally ran out of the originals, they switched to these and they DO NOT WORK. The return time has expired and now we have $14 worth of plastic that we can't use. CHECK YOUR SIZES! DOES NOT WORK WITH 3DOODLER!

Fun device for older kids

This 3D pen works well. It's definitely better for older kids (at least 8+) and there's a way to control how fast the thread comes out and how fast (or slow) you "draw" with it. It definitely takes practice, but this is a good device for kids or adults. You can get through the thread pretty quickly, so be prepared to buy extra right at the gate. For those who aren't that "left-brained," I'd also recommend getting a design book to work with. A good inexpensive gift and a pleasure to use.
