Got the wrong block in the right box.

I ordered this filter for my 2011 Mazda 3 a few years ago, got the filters (two as pictured) and installed them in the car, no problem. I have just repurchased them to replace the previously purchased ones and received a block that is too thick and poorly shaped to fit the filter slot. I am extremely disappointed.

  • Expensive but decent

When it comes to parts, quality matters

The Mazda 3 (2010-xxxx) has a very unfortunate cabin filter placement. Let's hope the engineer or department that developed it got fired and removed from the company. The location of the filter has nothing to do with the filter company. However, the quality of the filter material is very important for the overall flow and durability. This particular filter is no good as the new filter significantly reduces airflow.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons

Seems to be as good as OEM

Ease of installation varies as installing these filters in a Mazda 3 doesn't compare to something like a Civic. This is not the fault of the filters installed in the dashboard. They look just like OEM and I see no reason to pay more for OEM when they seem to do the job just as well. This is my second set and the first set held up well. Changed due to mileage. I'll buy again when the time comes.

The filters themselves are fine; BOO Mazda for terrible design!

filter ok almost identical to OEM. My problem is the placement; other cars take 1 filter that is horizontal, usually somewhere behind the glove box. My 2013 Mazda 3i uses these 2 filters which are vertical and placed in the corner where the passenger's left foot should be. What a pain to replace - so difficult to get in and difficult to put the filters back in due to the tight fit. The oil change I did the same day was a lot less of a hassle!

I wanted to save some money and this filter worked great. It's not as easy to replace my 2011 Mazda 3S as it is for my wife's Honda Civic, but at 64 it can be done with a YouTube video or a search of the Mazda3 247 forum. Honda has a better facility to replace the cabin filter. Just take your time, watch the video and vacuum up the dirt collected in the air duct. I park under trees so my filter will be evacuated the first year and replaced the second year. You can never go wrong with a Beck…

Fantastic alternative to dealer service

I couldn't believe it when my Mazda dealer told me it would cost me $75 to replace the cabin air filters. Typical dealer scam. So I went online and found a demo with a video showing how to do it yourself. It's tight for a big guy like me, but definitely ok if you have to swear a little every now and then. I then went to Revain to find the filters and they gave me an amazing deal - less than $19 with free shipping. They arrived 3 days later and I'm breathing clean air in my car again. Just in…

Perfect for 2010 Mazda 3 - Beck Arnley 042-2180 Cabin Air Filter

After driving my 2010 Mazda 3 over 44,000 miles I know I need to change the cabin air filter. The Beck Arnley filter set is an exact replacement at a very reasonable price. I used YouTube and Google to find installation videos showing the installation. The tricky part here is that the filters are stacked vertically, so you need to install them in the correct order. The key thing I took away from the installation guide was that the filter is with the foam on top and goes in first, with the…
