Although I needed a different pillow, I didn't want to go shopping now. I decided to take a chance, the reviews about it are good. I was worried he said "hard". While the pillow is excellent! Upon arrival you will be given clear instructions on how to care for your pillow. You need to put it in the dryer for 10 minutes to fluff it up and then remove the stuffing to the desired stiffness. I didn't take the pen because I wanted to use it "as is" for a few nights first. This pillow is advertised as "hard" but it is not. It collapses completely when I put the weight of my head on it. It also comes in a useless, totally flattened state with instructions to run it through the dryer to fluff it up. I don't have a dryer and won't have to do the work to make the pillow usable anyway.
