Nice but difficult to install

Difficult to insert and crimp wires. They seem well made, but I had to buy a wire crimping tool. I tried pliers but it didn't work. TJ finally connected.

Made MC4 connectors for the first time

I had never made MC4 connectors before so I bought a crimping tool, watched some videos on YouTube and got to work. At one point I put a male connector in a female housing but figured it out. Pretty easy to use with crimping pliers. Don't use the renogy MC4 tool with them, it won't work. Use an unbranded "standard" tool.

Connected to my solar panels

Instructions were not included with the product. I watched a youtube video on the connectors and it all made sense and the wiring was very easy. I also ordered a crimping tool which made a difference. The "keys" I ordered didn't grip the bottom of the connectors and I had to use a couple of locks to really tighten the weatherseal.

They fit thick wires

Great plugs. They are very easy to install. I don't even use a crimping tool. I just use regular pliers and take my time bending and pushing to the right. I made a connection for the inverter using 4 gauge welding wire. I removed the water intake from them. The way the caps fit compresses them nice and tight. I'm not worried

Only needed a few but got rid of the expensive alternative.

I used two pairs of these connectors on my chlorine generator cell in my pool. My old connectors were the same type and water got into them, corroding the terminals. I had a terminal crimping tool that I highly recommend, it makes a really clean and efficient crimp. The fit and waterproofing of these connectors appear to be good (time will tell). Very pleased, I have more connections than I need but that's a fraction of the price of a new cell with the serviceability this system needs.

Good connectors but no installation instructions

I bought ten pairs of connectors thought I wouldn't use them all but to my surprise I have two extra pairs left and will probably use them in the near future if I expand my solar panel. I took off a star because they didn't come with assembly instructions or tools. So if you get them, go to YouTube or the Internet and find out how they should be installed. Essentially, the female connector connects to the male connector and the connector connector to the female connector. It's a little tricky…
