Great product, have tried several of these phone holders. The phone holder has slipped off the dashboard or windshield. This holder also slides very slowly and can only slip off completely after many hits. Facing you vertically or horizontally. I will buy this holder again because after more than 6 months of use it finally broke and fell on the passenger seat.

Base and stand/hinge are fine. The base has just enough weight to keep it on the dashboard and the vertical stand has more than enough resistance to allow for adjustments but keep the phone in place. This was exactly what I was looking for in a car mount. Inserting and removing the phone from the mount is a breeze, even with the protective bumper (I have an iPhone 5s for reference). The non-slip material is extremely effective even for a short stop. It doesn't get very hot when left on the dashboard in the sun, which pleasantly surprised me. On the positive side this item really stays in place. It's durable and built fairly well. With the case of my cell phone (Motorola Droid Turbo 2), on the other hand, it fits very well. The jaws need to be a few millimeters lower to hold it properly. I can get my phone to stay inside but the slightest smack on the phone and it falls out. It stays on most bumps in the road.
