A chip in the first round.

On the first pass over a 3/4-inch piece of cherry, the cut broke, nearly destroying the bit. Clean and dirt free, will never buy anything from this manufacturer again.

Pros
  • Hard-welded, heat-resistant coating and hardened steel body with anti-kickback protection
Cons
  • Something different

Good value for money

I purchased this set of tenon and mortise bits for one time use on a project where an oak tree was cut to character quality. The bits cut very cleanly throughout the job. I can't speak to their durability but for the average user they were excellent. At this price I can afford to replace them from time to time. It took a bit of tedious work to adjust the spacers so that the tongue and groove matched perfectly, but I succeeded.

Pros
  • Overall Diameter: 1-3/8", Bearing Diameter: 7/8", Tooth Width: 1/4" (6.35mm), Tooth Depth: 1/4" (6.35 mm)
Cons
  • No Instructions

Good product for the money

This pair of bits gets the job done but for the price I can't find any downside on the "language side" complain of the couple. Just remember that one side of the cutter is 1/32" shorter than the other. A quick pass through the table saw or flipping the work piece to line up the sides of the tongue will solve the problem. Be careful when aligning the cutters very carefully. I use two separate router tables, one for the tongue and one for the groove, work to a tolerance of 1/64".

Pros
  • Used on portable desktop routers, cuts all composite materials, plywood, hardwood and softwood
Cons
  • Doubtful
