Quality hardware upgrade, questionable firmware

So far this has been a great update to my Ender 3. Touch screen works great, especially after running a calibration cycle which was easy to access in the settings menu. Since this is made as a drop-in replacement for the Ender 3 screen, however, one would think they'd have rotated the pin-out for the ribbon cable to match the orientation on the original. I had to clip off the keyed tab on the connector to insert it backwards to get it to work. Better documentation is definitely needed, I only…

Pros
  • Eliminates the need for a separate computer to control your printer
Cons
  • The board may be prone to power surges, leading to damage or failure

WORKS GREAT AFTER RECEIVING REPLACEMENT

I received this after I upgraded my board to a SKR mini v.3. When I received my first one, everything went together easily, but the touch screen would not work at all even though it would load up fine. I received my replacement within two days which was great! I hooked it up and it worked right away! Would have given 5 stars if the first one worked, but they made it right and now I am happy with this product.

Pros
  • Brilliant, full-color display ensures easy readability and clarity
Cons
  • The display may be too small to display certain graphical elements clearly

Working on cr10 with skr mini e3

So once you get it working it's really nice but you di have to print a custom holder or case for it because the knob is in a different position. I've only been 3d printing for 1 week so if you have a little common sense and not afraid to just try different things you should be able to get it to work with your cr10. Haven't seen anyone on here post about that printer so if you have it here is what I did to get it to work. Connect the original cable as is and the second cable with 5 pins add to…

Pros
  • a very useful product
Cons
  • The user manual may be difficult to follow for those new to 3D printing

Nice upgrade, poor board assembly - Updated

Touch screen control is a nice upgrade for the Ender 3 Pro. Only issue is the LCD screen was off center. See picture. On the bottom of the board there were lines where it should have been mounted. Not sure if all boards are like this or I just got a bad one.Update 01/09/2020: Vendor reached out and offered a replacement board which had a centered screen. Very happy with this new one. Changed my rating to reflect this.

Pros
  • Connects via standard ribbon cable for easy installation
Cons
  • The display may be too bright in low-light conditions, leading to eye strain or discomfort

Fantastic product! best in my review

I have used these in several prusa bear clone builds, and love them. Have started doing my own firmware builds, and it very easy to do. Dual functionality with Marlin screen and touchscreen works great, never had any problems with either.

Pros
  • It does what it is supposed to do .
Cons
  • The interface can be difficult to use for those who are not tech-savvy

Easy to install and use

Was easy to hook up and relatively easy to program in Marlin for my already updated Ender 3 printer. Allows for easy adjustments on the fly, is customizable for colors with simple selections on screen. I'm pleased with it.

Pros
  • Allows for saving and loading custom profiles for different prints
Cons
  • The touch buttons may be too sensitive or prone to accidental input, leading to errors or interruptions

The TFT70 is awsome!

Once you figure out the firmware and dial things in, this really does make adjusting things and flying through menus even better. Love the features it brings to my printer and can’t wait to create a nice mount for it

Pros
  • High-quality components ensure durability and longevity
Cons
  • The display may suffer from color accuracy issues, making it difficult to read some text

Edit: VERY good upgrade

Great upgrade! A bit of a learning curve, at first. But it's so much nicer to use the card slot & touch screen. No more jumpy wheel!

Pros
  • 2.Serial port screen mode supports two printing modes: SD card and U disk.
Cons
  • The board may be prone to overheating, leading to damage or failure

Do you prefer graphics?

If you prefer graphics and like the idea of touch screen tech, then you will like this one. You will need to DL the latest software to get it to work and it takes about 30 seconds or so before it is "Ready" be patient its worth it.

Pros
  • Simplifies printer calibration and adjustments
Cons
  • The touch buttons may be too small or too close together, making them difficult to use

Same issues as others.

So it work BUT.Screen isn't aligned as other have stated which is disappointing. Whats worse, i am unable update the FW using the pre compiled example and folders on the BIgtree site. This looks like its going to be returned.

Pros
  • Perfect for both novice and experienced 3D printing enthusiasts
Cons
  • The board may be prone to firmware corruption, leading to malfunctions or failures

Great product! for my opinion

Very easy to set up and easy to use. Just be sure you update the firmware and icons with the latest versions on Bigtreetech's Github before using it to print.

Pros
  • Allows for real-time monitoring of print progress and temperature
Cons
  • The board may not be able to handle high-speed data transfer, leading to data loss or corruption

Was not plug and play. but works great now

I've revised this review. I had a really frustrating time getting this going and was not plug and play for me. The mounting screw near one of the power pins was causing issues and wouldn't let me past the launch screen. Removing that one screw fixed it. Also even though all pins are designed to be used on the skr1.3, it would only boot properly without the reset pin. Also the screen is slightly off center, not really a problem but frustrating. With those three things out of the way, it works…

Pros
  • Simplifies the process of setting up and calibrating your printer
Cons
  • The display may suffer from image distortion or blurring, making it difficult to read

Love/Hate Relationship with this one.

Paired with a BIGTREETECH SKR 2 Rev B mainboard in a Tronxy X5SA Pro (Core XY) in order to add sorely needed auto Z-align capability. There are plenty of features, including the ability to swap between the graphic interface and the old classic (from which I generally would rather stay away). I particularly like the fact that when updating the TFT firmware, you have the option of choosing from a variety of themes, and I really like the "Round" theme (very nicely done!). However, I am forced to…

Pros
  • Features a responsive and precise touchscreen interface
Cons
  • The board may be prone to static electricity discharge, leading to damage or failure
