Description of Birdtown Traders Tailors Clapper Flattening

The kiln-dried oak clapper helps to set a seam as well as press and flatten fabric making it an ideal tool for quilters, tailors, seamstresses and anyone who irons and sews. This durable unfinished one solid piece of oak is easy to use. The hardwood absorbs moisture from the steam iron and creates sharp creases and easily flattens seams and pleats. Your tailor's clapper is a flat block of oak hardwood that is often rounded on the ends with routed grooves along the sides for an easier grip. Included in this offer is a 5 piece pack of tailor's chalk (2.5" x 2.5" x 1.5") that comes in 4 colors (blue, white, yellow and red). Your seam flattener (9.5" x 2" x 1.25") creates sharp creases and easily flattens seams and pleats. It weighs 0.34kg / 0.75lbs.

They work! the best in quilting

I've never used a clapper board but now I'm in love with it. The seams are so even and lie flat. Markings leave a clear line. I sew a lot and the clapper board and markers help me a lot.

Cons
  • so far so good
