Description of Enhanced Fluoride Filtration with Black Berkey Replacement Filters

Four Black Berkey Filters (BB9) & Four Berkey Fluoride Filters (PF2). Black Berkey replacement filters will fit the following systems: Berkey Light, Big Berkey, Royal Berkey, Imperial Berkey, Crown Berkey, Travel Berkey. Berkey Fluoride Filters (PF2) attach to the Berkey Black filters (BB9) and reduce fluoride and arsenic. PF2 filters and are compatible with all Berkey water filter systems. Each Berkey filter element has a life of 3,000 gallons: That’s an incredible 6,000 gallons for a two-filter system and 12,000 gallons for a four filter system!. Each set of two Berkey PF-2 fluoride water filters should be replaced after 1,000 gallons (3,785 liters).

A bad bunch of black filters?

Update 09/16/21 The seller sent me new filters and I was much luckier than the first batch. I use our Crown Berkey daily for all of our drinking/boiling water needs and it's still great chemical free fresh drinking water. I was shocked when I came back to order another set to have on hand 'just in case' now that they are 4 years old to find they have exactly doubled in price ! Now I don't know if I should buy another, more economical system or go back to bottled water. But pay more than $450…

Bought April 2016, no luck. The OEM claims they have a 5 year lifespan. hahaha

I replaced the fluoride filters as they don't last long. I think they work, but hang in the bottom reservoir where your filtered water is. Filling the top reservoir completely keeps these fluoride filters in your drinking water at Big Berkey. Thoughtful design and high thread weight of the black filters when you turn the top bin upside down when cleaning. Black filters should last 5 years. When used with Big Berkey, expect faster inflation but slower performance per unit time. UPDATED

If you plan to use these 8 filters with the Big Berkey: Expect faster filling of the lower chamber but less overall performance per unit time e.g. B. 12 hours. Does it matter if I use all the holes in my Berkey?

I think so, and of course your decision will cost; I use all the holes in the cartridge. I have Travel Berkey and Royal. Although I travel on city water, I don't trust the sources of the many places/states I travel to. I'm also a breeder and what my dogs drink is just as important to me. I also have an artesian well. 100% drinking water comes from a well, I don't use city water and yes I also use white arsenic/fluoride filters. The water is crystal clear and removes any sulphur.
