B&D drills only look like B&D bits

I learned that Black & Decker drills can only use B&D's own bits. Something about the material they are made of. I bought some fancy Dewalt bits and they slipped all over the place in the B&D drill. although they were much better. I've re-ordered these cheaper ones and again they've worked great for everyday stuff.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • there are disadvantages

Broke after one use. Suitable for twist drill

. I'm pretty handy and know how to use a damn drill. These beats are complete bullshit. Broke after one use. I'm so pissed off and have no idea how to get this stupid piece out of my wall which is regular drywall. I'll add a photo if I ever get a piece. GARBAGE. I should have just gone with DeWalt but didn't want to spend that much on the little things around the house. Now I've learned my lesson.

Pros
  • . Nice to use.

Won't break cupboard doors

These attachments are no longer in my "big" local hardware store but luckily I found them on Amazon, we only use 3 sizes but these attachments don't have a VERY aggressive tip which does They are ideal for drilling fittings on new cabinet doors. Many of the brands we tried are so aggressive that they can rip open the front of the door. Of course we only use 3 sizes and most of the time you have to buy a whole 16 to 24 bit set just to get the few you need to replace. I will buy again.

worst drills

worst drills. I have worked as a mechanic and locksmith and have a full workshop at home with lathes, welders and milling machines. I needed a cheap set while on vacation so I figured this would help. NO. The 1/8th bit broke as soon as I touched the workpiece, before I even started applying pressure to it. The other two I tried blunted to an unusable state after less than 1/4 inch of metal went through. In the photo they show steel. This is clearly rubbish, do not buy for any purpose.

Pros
  • hands-free operation
Cons
  • negative impression

Use once or twice for small jobs

They are perfect for 1 or 2 jobs around your new apartment/house. I needed my first set of drill bits to install the curtain rods, towel rails and wall shelves. I used them with a Black&Decker 20V MAX drill. First I attached my towel rail and then attached 3 curtain rods. On the 1st cornice the drill was already blunt and I had to use a replacement which eventually became blunt on my wall as well. Bits are basically useless for any future project. So you get what you pay for, basically aโ€ฆ

Inexpensive, good choice but not high quality

good: - price is cheap, - quantity and selection are good, - case makes sense and shows bit sizes on the bottom. The quality of the drills is a bit low and they break easily. Comment: I broke two drill bits in two weeks while drilling in mahogany (softwood) studs. One day I thought it was my fault - I bent the bit a bit while drilling, but when I was careful, straight and patient the second time, the second bit still broke! Recommendation: - If you need cheap conventional drill bits these areโ€ฆ

Cheap, good size but definitely not durable

This is a basic set of different sized drill bits in one holder. This embodies the aphorism "You get what you pay for". Many other reviews correctly point out that these drill bits break quite easily. I've managed to break THREE of these over the course of a few days of random pilot holes and that's three times more shots than I've ever broken in that time. Also, they broke so easily that I didn't even notice the click while drilling; I just noticed that the end of the drill was missing when Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Drill to your liking

Drill my heart! Okay, I confess: this was the first time I used a drill :( If you take it straight out of the box, you need to charge it. The box says 3 to 4 hours of charging, which is correct. Charging Leave it on for at least 3 hrs to be fully functional Tip: I don't know if it's just this brand or all drills are like this, but there is no traditional "trigger" on the drill, there is a small horizontal button that either left or right slides right to turn on the power. At first I was soโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

> DOES THE WORK for drills

> I have 3 or 4 large bit sets --- all the small bits are missing, they've broken over the years. Individual small bits are expensive (unless you want a dozen of the same size) - so really appreciate an inexpensive set (I paid $3.88) of these small bits. > These are general purpose bits (metal or wood) for holes. from 1/16" to 1/4" They are NOT suitable for masonry etc. You can drill holes in soft plasterboard, but the drill bits will dull quickly. For brick, masonry, tiles, concrete etc.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
