It came with a fabric filter (part no VF110) but there was nothing to keep it from dirt. I also noticed that there are notches on this cloth filter, as if something should fit on it. These notches also seemed to allow air, dirt and debris to bypass the filter and go straight into the engine, which I believe over time, maybe a short time under heavy use, can damage the engine.
