Description of πŸ”“ Unlock the Power of Black Iron Oxide Natural Pounds!

Fe3O4, also known as magnetite or Iron (II,III) Oxide. This comes from a natural source so the product has slight variation in color. Particle size runs about 500 mesh (30 microns). Used in welding, pigments, ceramics, along with a lot of other uses. We sell bulk for so many different uses, we don't include any specific use instructions.

It does not replace the real metal paint used for rust.

I bought this to see if I could use it in place of the very expensive metallic paint used to corrode things that don't normally rust. It didn't work but the magnet stuck to the plastic paint mixing bucket I was using. So if you want a magnetic wall to hang photos, you can try this. It's black so it must be a primer. I also mixed in a 1 to 1 ratio.

Pros
  • Particle size approx 500 mesh (30 microns)
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Attention - no color pigment!

This is not a negative review. I just want to help others not to make the mistake I made thinking this can be used in the same way as iron oxide black pigment. In the photo it took 3/4 cup of pigment added to the same amount of lime to get the dark color on the left. Light gray on the right after the entire 5 lb bag of Fe3O4 has been added. If you want a true black pigment, get "iron oxide based black COLOR PIGMENT" like Color Rare. It's not Fe3O4's fault that it can't be a dark pigment, it was

respiratory hazard!

I bought this thinking it was regular iron filings but they are 30 micron particles. After a few hours with this stuff I got a little nauseous after using it as it seemed to still be up in the air. I'm fine after leaving the room for a while, but my workspace needs ventilation. 30 microns is in the same range as asbestos, and the safety data sheet for iron oxide particles recommends wearing an EN 140 mask, which looks like it's only a few microns. Steps under the protective suit. I got what I…
