Description of 🚴 Blackburn Dual-Purpose Front and Rear Bicycle Light

FRONT OR REAR CAPABLE - With the push of a button, this light can switch between white front light and a red rear light. Holding the button for 2 seconds turns the light on and off, and pushing the button once changes modes between white solid, red solid, white flashing and red flashing. The light also remembers which mode you were last using and turns on in that mode. MEETS ANSI FL-1 STANDARD - Meets ANSI FL-1 standard- this standard was created by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to provide consistent performance measurements for handheld lights. Although bicycle lights are not required to follow this or any standard, Blackburn believes in offering full transparency in how the output, run time, water resistance and other performance claims are measured. VERSATILE MOUNTING SYSTEM - Round seat posts, aero posts, seat stays or to loops on bags/clothes (with the built-in wire clip) are all fair game for mounting the Dayblazer rear light thanks to it's unique and reconfigurable bracket interface. It is easy to bring it with you. IP-65 - Ingress protection rating or ip rating, is a techy way to describe the level of water and dust proofness a product has. This light meets the ip-65 standard, which means is totally protected against dust/grit and is fully resist strong jets of water from all directions. LED FUEL GAUGE/CHARGE INDICATOR - A small built in led light indicates the battery level. Green = >75%, orange = 75-25%, red = <25%.

Almost perfect general purpose flashlight

I carry this flashlight on my belt almost every day. They are ideal for bicycles, but also as small, unobtrusive hiking lamps. The presence of red light makes it easier for the eyes to work in certain situations and I always have it out there if someone is looking for something in the dark, I like using this thing. ONE caveat is that the battery life is terrible. 1.5 hours is simply not sustainable in the long run. If they made the exact same bike light but with 10 hours of battery life I would

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • No power

Beautiful but expensive

These are great and versatile lights. They are easy to attach and move, and you can use the clip if you want to attach them to yourself. On hard mode, I get around 1:20-30 minutes on a single charge. Double when blinking. Accessing the charging port is quite inconvenient as you have to move the strap, but those are minor things. I've had a pair for over a year (and commute to work in very rainy weather). I just bought a second pair for my husband's ride. White is bright enough for cars to know…

They're great because

They're great because they're: 1) rechargeable, 2) very light, and 3) small. All of these are wonderful qualities that I am very pleased with. However, they only last 30 minutes. The bike ride home takes about 20 minutes, so that's enough for about 1.5 rides. That means I have to charge them every night if I don't want to risk driving home in the dark. Okay, no big deal, I charge my phone every night. Except now I have three more spare cables and had to buy a USB charger to accommodate them…

  • They're fun

Ideal for cycling and running

Background: I run often and bike occasionally. The first thing I look for in a product is durability, especially when adding it to my training kit. . These lights offer that and more! First, I love how bright these lights are. I can't attach a brightness scale, but when I run and use a front-facing flashing white one, I've seen people notice it at least 100 yards away. In addition, the product is quite durable. I've dropped them a few times and they haven't snapped, just got small scratches…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Nice little flashlight to look at

This is a great little flashlight to look at. I think this works great during the day when you're seen from the front as a 60 lumen flashing white safety light to prevent cars moving in front of you. As a real headlight, however, 60 lumens is pretty bloodless and should only be considered as an emergency measure. This light is small enough that I can tie it to spacers under the stem so it doesn't get in the way. Remember as others have said the plastic clip and rubber band are quite fragile so…

  • Consistent test results

Bad Redesign is Best in Lights & Reflectors

Blackburn's center headlights were MUCH BETTER than these. In order to charge the 2-FER flashlights, they must be detached from the fastening strap. This puts a lot of strain on the clip as it is serrated for security. Earlier lights had a charging port on the bottom edge so they could remain attached to the bike while charging. Several other styles have appeared since the redesign. , but 2-fer is the only one with decent durability in strobe mode. These brag about how few grams they are, but…

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Updates

Its main advantage is its disadvantage: small size means small batteries and frequent charging. For me, it's a day after my daily 10-mile one-way rides (I use continuous red light mode, which uses a lot less power than white light mode). This is REALLY something to be aware of, as losing a rear light due to a dead battery can have tragic consequences. The ergonomics of the flashlight are excellent. I've seen reviews of the durability of the clamp and I like a lot of things like this, as long as

Bright, visible from afar, works for a long time and charges via USB.

I bike to and from work in San Francisco. When it gets dark or even during the day, this light can be seen very well from afar. I bought this two pack because it's small, very bright, has different lighting settings, has interchangeable front and back buttons in case one breaks, and is USB rechargeable. It works well as a backlight because cars and cyclists can see me from afar. As a front light, I know it won't illuminate the path ahead. I bought this so OTHERS can see me. One thing I worry…

Lightweight lamps for helmets or non-cylindrical mounts

Great lights and really bright. Has all the modes you want. Solid and flashing white or red. Use them as a taillight and mount them in front of the main headlight batteries. Flexibility: Their light weight allows them to fit inside your helmet without causing neck pain. Rubber straps attach better to awkward shapes like helmets or bike racks than hard plastic mounts seen on other lights. Cons: The charging port is only accessible when you remove the light from the bike. Please relocate the…
