This item adheres with a combination of water and sheer will. There is a smooth side and a textured side. The film everyone's talking about pulls away from the smooth side. This reveals an even smoother side that clings to everything. Use a sponge to wet the window and dampen the clingy side. This will make the clingy side even more clingy, but it will be very easy to adhere to the designated surface. I'd advise to measure and cut to size before removing the protective film.

Perfect to help keep the natural light of a window for a room. It helps dress up a window and obscure the view just enough without the hassle of blinds or curtains. A great solution! This was fairly easy to install. Definitely use a lot of water mist as it helps with removing the air bubbles. We used it in a closet/dressing area for privacy and nothing is visible other than a shadow so it’s perfect for this. Let’s in light so no darkening in the closet. I like that we can remove it if needed and put it back up. We have sheer shades in the rest of the house and this almost matches them without the $400 plus dollar cost.

Cut with 1/8" leeway all around. Requires some patience to start peeling the backing off.I suggest doing this step in direct sunlight. Once you have the backing off, spray both surfaces (back of film and window) with lots of water, position film, and use a good quality squeegee or a credit card to begin carefully to work all the water and air bubbles fro the center to the four edges. I used this film on a frosted bathroom window that did not offer enough privacy. The film adheres nicely, adds a contemporary spa-like feel to the bath, and was easy to apply--except for the backing which was quite difficult to separate from the film. You need sharp nails to pry it up from a cut corner. But, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again. Love how much better this looks vs the clunky horizontal blinds that were in the way of the door knob. Hardest part of install was separating the backing. Don’t think it would work for privacy, but I was mainly trying to find a way to let light in a dark hallway. At night with lights on in hall you can see in clearly from outside. I definitely recommend this product. It wasn’t harder than usual to install. It’s a film that you have to cut to size, spray water on, and then push the bubbles out. I purchased two of these to hang vertically. The first one I "installed" with a lot of water. It was heavy like a shower curtain and despite the comment "remove the backing film", I determined it must not be attached because I could not feel anything to remove. I recently bought a house. Curtain purchases are stressful and expensive.I have never heard of these, but my sister-in-law purchased them to cover bedroom windows in guest bedroom. This allowed me to put off the expense of purchasing curtains for a while!They let in ambient light but don't allow people outside to see anything but a blurry shape.

Overall these are great for privacy. But here's the catch: some of the stripes are a little irregular. Two stripes were thinner than the other stripes and one had a slight wave.

Arrived on time and was easy to install with scissors, razor knife and a tape measure. Initially the product adhered to the window well. We have now had 2 weeks of cold weather and the product is getting brittle and detaching from the window. I'm hoping once the weather warms up it will cling again, but I'm not betting on it.

After putting up film 3 times I decided to sit down and read the reviews. I saw it said remove film on back, what film?. So I read more to see about using duct tape to pull film off, so I used duct tape and it pulled the film off. I now put up for 4th time so now I wait to see if it works.

I knew they'd be cool, but I didn't know they'd be freakin' cool! I live in an old apartment so there's lots of windows, and neat built-ins. I have this awkward spot under my counters, I'm picky, it's been an issue. These are great, from the outside complete privacy in gold. From the inside, beauty illuminated.

Used this for my basement windows because my cats tore up the blinds. These were super easy to apply, even easier with two people. Just clean off and spray windows with water before applying. Use a card to scrape and push out air bubbles. Provides great privacy but you can still look out if you need to. Very satisfied, highly recommend

I really wanted something that allowed my room to have more light and privacy at the same time. This was the best I could find. It works very well, The frost allows the window to blur from a further distance, as when you get close it’s slightly clears up.

I ordered this for an RV window and probably should’ve read the reviews a little better. Went off the number of stars that had. This is not an adhesive. You’re supposed to use water to stick it to your window but it started peeling off before I was even finished. If you’re looking for an adhesive, skip this. Not sure how long it’s supposed to last? Hoping I can return it.

Snowbird planning. Just purchased a winter condo in Florida and needed coverage for my patio doors after a unknown neighbor walked up to my door looking inside. With the Coavas window covering I can look out but it is hard or for someone to look in without being a peeping Tom.
