DC as a heavy string!

I was so happy to use alpaca yarn but I am sending it back. I'm usually fine with the yarn I use, even Caron-Split, but this yarn isn't twisted well enough to use and is lighter than regular DK. It's like a heavy cord. I am disappointed to say the least.

Pros
  • CAREFULLY MADE AND READY TO USE: All of our yarns are made in Peru by expert makers to ensure you're getting a high-quality, affordable product straight from the source. Garments made from our alpaca blends must be hand washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Avoid squeezing and twisting, and gently squeeze to remove water. Do not hang to prevent stretching, lay flat to dry.

Smell of vomit on yarn

I had high hopes for this yarn, it was soft and easy to knit with, I even knitted very nice socks out of it. The problem occurred when I put my socks on and after I took them off they smelled like vomit. I tried airing them out and they still smelled. Then I washed them according to the manufacturer's instructions and they still smelled. I am very disappointed that I have this product.

Fine yarn but too thin

This yarn is very soft and the color (steel blue) is beautiful! I'm a beginner and haven't delved that deep into the details of thin and thick yarn. I'm knitting a simple sweater for my girlfriend in 5mm crochet, and when I started knitting several rows of double crochet, there were large "holes" in the stitches that I'd like to make neat and small. Overall this is a great yarn but in my opinion it is thinner than regular dk yarn. :)

Pros
  • Imported
Cons
  • Slightly torn
