Blue Ox BX1118 Base Plate Review

Made it myself using a jack (to hold the steering gear) and some straps to hold the passenger side while I tightened the bolts on the driver's side. Everything went well. It took about two hours, no rush.

Installed this on my 1999 Jeep Wrangler in about 1 hour. Installation went smoothly, instructions were great and the fitment to my Acclaim hitch makes it easy to connect and disconnect. Everything positive and nothing negative.

Blue Ox Bx 1118 base plate was bought without knowing beforehand which one to use. I bought by the manufacturer's reputation and passports. The floor panel was delivered earlier than expected and was easy to install yourself. It was a one person setup with four holes that had to be drilled in the frame of the car. The new drill bit made this task easier, and the "wire holders" for the nuts bring the nut and bolts to acceptable levels. Would buy again.

When I bought my jeep it had a towing kit. When I got to my destination (the campsite) my uncle saw that it had been misconfigured and actually damaged the bumper. So we first ordered the baseplate elsewhere and 4 days later (two days delivery was promised) I ordered it from Revain. The base plate arrived at Revain's campsite the next day! I was able to install quickly and continue my vacation with no problems. So happy. Thanks very much!

Great product installed on a 2000 Jeep Wranger Sport in 3 hours. It would have been less, but there was a small problem: I also stripped the screw, so the class of screws in the kit could have been of better quality. A small bar is welded to the nuts included in the kit so they can be mounted in the frame. It was easy to bend them into the shape required for installation. The only problem was that after stripping a bolt there was no way to get the bolt and nut out of the frame after I cut off…

Worked great on my '97 Jeep Wrangler. No way will it fall. 7 screws on the frame keep it in place. It took about 2 hours to install and it wasn't that bad. I was a little worried about how difficult it would be to drill the holes. It wasn't as bad as I expected. Although the metal you need to drill is quite thick, it is quite soft and easy to drill. There was enough space to install a drill for drilling holes. I think the worst part was removing the three existing screws on the driver's side. I

First I would like to thank the other reviewers as they helped me feel like this would be a relatively easy install on my 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I installed a similar one on a Honda CRV about 10 years ago and it wants good, never had a problem in all the years of towing it behind my camper van. I'm 78 now so it's not as easy as other hot reviewers. So this review is for seniors. I installed it myself in my garage, on my back most of the time, and wish my jeep was on a lift. This is a 5 star…
