🌬️ Blueair Classic Replacement Filter: Genuine Particle Filter for 500/600 Series - Pollen and Dust Removal (Models: 501, 503, 510, 550E, 555EB, 601, 603, 650E, 505, 605) Review

I have two u, 500 and 600. Have had filter changes every six months for many years. This batch of replacement filters smelled like poison and immediately gave me a headache. I threw them away. Angry because they are expensive.

I have just replaced my Blueair filters with these and noticed a strong odor coming from the air purifier. I left it on max settings for over 24 hours hoping it would go away. Big chance. Now my whole house smells like those filters. I like not having smells in my house. Do not buy these if you are sensitive to the smell.

Like an idiot I ordered three of these. Nowhere does it say that this is actually a complete package of three filters. Obviously it's a lot better than I thought it would be, but now I've got enough filters to last a couple of years. Anyway, I love the slim BlueAir and the filters are easy to put in. If you set the BlueAir to maximum speed and wait a few hours, you will definitely feel that the air is much cleaner afterwards.

I have been buying these filters for more than 10 years. What happened? This last set has no black filter mesh, smells awful, and is cheaply made. I'm not sure if these are counterfeits or if the product is made differently. Tried 5 times to call Blue Air directly; they don't answer the phone (the record says they're having lunch). Left a message for them to call back but of course they didn't call back. Was sold"Invoice".

To be honest I'm not quite sure what to do with this. I've been buying this exact item from Amazon for years and it's always been spot on (genuine product with proper seals, comes in box, smells great, works great). However, this last purchase came with 3 filters in a random plastic bag (no outer box), the product looks different (no seal and looks slightly different) and it has a HUGE chemical smell. Good at first - after researching on the internet, the price turned out to be the best. Now for the bad news - Blueair seems to be cutting every corner it can think of. The surface area of the filter has been reduced, so the outside of the box has been painted black (previously it was white) so you don't notice that it no longer fills the entire screen of your Blueair device. You can see that 10% of the edges are now cardboard and no filter. Second, I can now see the light coming from inside…

I finally got the BlueAir out and changed the filters. The house smells went away after a few hours and his coughing and my sneezing stopped. You can, like I did last time, vacuum the filters for more benefit. They last 6 months with constant use. In our current stick house we only use it occasionally, more or less constantly in our previous house, double wide. I wouldn't risk anything less for my BlueAir. These filters are a real find.
