Great product for sealants

Like all Blue Devil products, it works well when used correctly. A rear shaft seal on a 1992 Suburban automatic transmission was leaking. After driving about 40 km, there is no more leakage. So far it has run more than 12,000 km without any problems.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Sealed leaks for over 2 years so am trying again now

Added August 2015, leak stopped by January 2018 I have ordered another bottle to try again but the leak seems more severe at the moment to be, so I'm not sure it will work a second time after more than 2 years; I think it's worth a try based on the results so far. Santa Fe 2002 car.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Long wait

Sealed my cobalt very well!

The only problem I had was finding the transmission cover to add fluid to my car. The funniest thing about the Cobalt is that it sits behind the engine block and not next to the other fluid intakes. Also, it's much lower and harder to reach so I had to buy a special tube, but the sealing worked wonders and prevented a lot of maintenance issues.

Thing Works - Car Detailing

A 2005 Duramax Diesel had the upper transmission seal leaking for years. I've used this in power steering systems before and it worked and stayed sealed on an older Mustang for years. Instead of spending $1,400 just on a 500,000+ mile Duramax transmission, I put it in and the next day the leak stopped. It's been over 2 months and still sealed.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Poor

Great product in sealants

Sealed slow side cover on a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan Great. End case cap was dripping about every 5-10 seconds after less than 60 miles, stopped leaking, all together was 24xxx, still no dripping in driveway, also used in 243 transfer case with stress cracking slowly near sealed tailshaft housing leaked thats good was about 12xxx as stated by customer still 😊 If your lines are leaking this product is not for you please replace the radiator lines

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Fits Honda Element

My Honda Element 5 speed manual had a pretty bad leak. With every oil change (approx. 4,000 miles) almost half of the fluid in the transmission was gone. I filled in BlueDevil transmission sealant and eventually the seepage stopped. However, this took some time. After adding BlueDevil, I cleaned my gearbox from the outside. I could clearly see drops of liquid on the outer bottom of my gearbox. I would wipe again and wait. Gradually, the appearance of drops slowed down, and then stopped…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

For the last 50,000 miles or so, every time I put the car in D on the first morning it felt like someone had hit me from behind. Then it got to the point where the transmission started to slip between 1st and 2nd and then 2nd and 3rd. As soon as the transmission oil had reached operating temperature, everything was fine. Then I found a transmission oil leak at the bottom of the transmission when changing the engine oil. The Honda uses 6.9 liters of transmission fluid, so I used about 210ml of…

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others

Oh my god, I think that stopped the gearbox leaking.

When my '89 Ford Ranger's rebuilt automatic transmission started choking on fluid while I was waiting for this thing to shift into drive mode, it would start to freewheel in corners, requiring a constant topping up etc. I was already ready to sell the item for scrap. A friend suggested I look for some type of sealant for the transmission seal and I found it on Amazon. I followed the instructions verbatim, including one tablespoon per liter of transmission, which I determined from the…

  • Legacy Model

I had a very long post and now I've lost it. So this post is the shortened version! I have a 1995 GMC Jimmy with 240,000 miles on it, it had a horrible leak in the transfer case inlet seal, gear oil was leaking into the transfer case. Drain about a quart of transmission fluid into the transfer case every 120 miles. This came after Jimmy had stood and not driven for a year. The leak was so bad that the transfer case overflowed and then the transmission fluid spilled out of the vent attached to…
