In fact, this should be a mandatory safety feature in modern cars.

If you take taxis, take them. Drunk passengers try to open the doors in all sorts of situations where they are not aware of the traffic, and the flashing light gets the intended attention! They are cheap and easy to install. Remember that the magnet needs to get close to the light to reset the cycle, so it doesn't need to be directly above it when the doors close. I've had them for a few weeks now and only had to adjust them once.

Works, very useful for rideshare UPDATED

I am an Uber driver and this is very helpful for evening/night commuters. Passengers never make sure there are no intersections, and these lights have saved me several times by making my doors clearly visible to other drivers. Definitely recommended for anyone who drives a lot at night as a carsharing driver :) UPDATE: 8 months later they're dead. And if I say 8 months, my car was mostly from March to October. What is the blue light that is flashing?

Ideal for taxi or shuttle drivers or anyone uninterested in hearing the sound of a bike banging against an open car door at night. This is an amazing set of warning lights. Installation was as easy as can be and only took a few minutes. You might look at them and think they can't be very bright, but surprisingly they turn off the lights. Flashing patterns provide additional security with frequent changes. I was just amazed by the ease of installation, the efficiency of the lamps and the distance they can be seen from, especially at night.
