Good, strong and durable crimping tool that makes installing MC-4 connectors easier. At first I tried installing the MC-4 connectors with needle nose pliers and without this tool a reliable connection is no longer the same.

Don't waste $200 on these *um* orange ones. These MC4 connectors crimp perfectly and won't break (alone or in a jar). I used a colleague for a while (same pair but a few years ago) and when he asked why I shouldn't just buy my own I said because I can't afford a $200 hand tool which he laughed at and sent me a link to them. Now they never leave my belt.

This allowed the solar system to be installed quickly. I used to use auto crimp connections with heat shrink tubing or tape and didn't feel like I had really good connections. Plug connections are easy to assemble once you get used to them. Make sure you understand which pin goes with which connector and anyone can easily set up their own solar system. I wouldn't hesitate to make my own with this gadget.

This crimping tool has gotten a lot of rave reviews so I decided to take a chance and use it to crimp solar MC4 connectors. If you use cheap 20 amp stamped metal MC4 connectors this will probably work just fine. If you are using the much more powerful 30Amp solid MC4 connectors, which are solid bar machined on a lathe, this tool will not work properly.
