Boyd Enterprises ABE16743 Chemipure 11 74 Ounce Review

I'm not sure what's going on here. I opened the lid and there was a wet object inside. I understand the seal may have been removed. but why the hell is he wet. From other reviews I noticed that many others have received something similar. I will actually test and use it, but it doesn't look promising. Even with the water running, I didn't hear a single part of the activated carbon activation hiss.

Having used the "Standard" version of Chemi-pure, I was glad to have this version in my tank. After reading the instructions I started flushing, however it never became clear. A brown trickle constantly flowed out of the bag. After about 15-20 minutes I gave up and put the bag back in the bin. The next day I figured what the heck and tried flushing again. To my surprise, exactly the same results. Unfortunately it was a waste of time.

The day after I put it in my pan I noticed my coral stick had been used up for weeks - even after a 50% water change, suddenly swell and look alive. I have a 40 gallon mixed reef tank. I know it's only been a few days, but so far everything looks promising. And for those who complain that the item was used and wet, they didn't read the instructions carefully. later If you're buying this you probably have a marine tank I'm guessing. I'm not going to deny the stability or reliability of Chemi-Pures, but I've used this material sporadically over the years and it seems like every couple buys one with a compromised zipper. Damn things are happening in my swamp and it's becoming a two hour routine to keep it down. It will probably need to 1) attach my own zip and 2) put it in my own fine mesh bag or reactor vessel. Crystal clear water. This is what you get when you use Chemi-Pure Elite. I believe in using chemical filtration in aquariums. Others may argue that all you need is mechanical and biological filtration. However, I do find that a closed system such as an aquarium benefits greatly from the proper use of quality chemical filter media.
