It was the perfect latch replacement and saved me the hassle and expense of buying and replacing an entire mailbox just to fix a plastic part.

Because it is identical to the original, it is easy to install and works like new. The lid and top have two pins that fit into two holes on the inside, slide closures so it would be difficult to find a closure that closes like this original replacement. I'm glad this original design saved me at least $20. and working on replacing the box. And I know the postman appreciates having a handle to open and close the mailbox.

I bought a metal latch thinking it would be stronger but it was too small for my large letter box. The holes were in the wrong places and the screws kept coming loose. And this one fits perfectly.
