This is the best lime I have found. I've been adding lime for years. This helps maintain strontium and magnesium levels. It costs a little more, but it's worth it. I use it in my 180 gallon reef tank. I admit that sometimes I mix it with cheaper but very clean tracing paper. So I get some of the benefits of adding minerals at a better price.

I swear by this stuff. You could probably use regular Calc, but I like that this powder has other elements in it. I've never used anything else so I have no comparison. All I know is that my water is rich in calcium and iodine. Calcium because all my hard corals build skeletal mass, iodine because my light sally crab keeps dropping and dropping and dropping. My wife says he'll grow up and eat our kids!

I have this in a limestone mixer mounted on a dosing pump to ensure constant dosing for stable parameters. It works to an extent and the magnesium seemed dosed but still needed supplements. As consumption in my aquarium increased, I had to add 2 parts to the dosage. A friend recommended me to try BRS pharma kalk and of course the potency was much higher with BRS kalk where I am currently on 2 parts and may not need the 2 part dosage at all. I have a problem with my Kalk+2 product. I had my doubts that this product could work as advertised because magnesium will precipitate at high PH and since a saturated lime solution is a very high PH environment, logic dictates that magnesium will simply fall out of solution and am bottom of the container remains.
