My MFC-9970CDW has alerted me that I need a new belt. I reached over 67,000 pages for only 50,000. The printer eventually stopped and said to replace it now. Easy to fix. But don't forget to reset the counter to make the printer error go away.

After 58,000 copies, the tape unit was finally replaced. (It is only designed for 50,000 copies.) The printer is working properly again. It was very easy to remove the old block and replace it with a new block. I assume this will last until the laser unit expires.

The product ordered and received was exactly what I expected but having to buy and replace it was a hit on the wallet. Revain made it a little easier to swallow as their price was the best I could find. In hindsight I think he has problems beyond what this ribbon printer can fix, even though the printer said it needed a new ribbon cartridge. :(

The color was no brother in the first device I received. Not necessarily a problem. But he didn't sit down. Upon examination, an additional flange was found in the fake block, which prevented landing. I opted for a replacement rather than a refund and the replacement matched Brother's color and fit right in. I have questions but no coherent theories. One star deduction.
