product works functional; However, by design, the parts are oriented 90° from the intended orientation, making the solution less reliable than other similar products based on APA102-C. Also, the pinout is not compatible with other APA102-C strips.

144/m Stripe. It's not a meter long. These are two half meter strips with a very noticeable gap of about 5mm down the middle. I'm not sure why it was designed that way with extra circuit board at the 'ends' of the strips. I haven't done this yet, but if you cut 2 ends (sacrificing 2 LEDs) and solder it looks like I can get a continuous strip.

After assembling something with 144/m APA102 bulbs, each LED strip that is further apart looks like a Christmas garland. Those shape lines that actually look like lines, animations that actually look like they're moving, and as vivid as can be. These are the only LEDs I will be using anymore. Please someone take this whole WS2812 away from me.

They are packaged as SK9822 but do not work with that protocol. After lots of testing I've come to the conclusion that they are buggy, but I've tried them with the APA102 code and they work. So they are actually APA102, but for some reason they are labeled and sold as SK9822. This is very strange as 102 is usually a bit more expensive. Inconvenient because they don't work with an existing installation, but work independently.

These are "DotStar" type LED strips that use separate CLOCK and data lines so they are much easier to control. My video shows the work I've programmed. I powered each speaker with an 8 pin PIC! Really simple and easy. Be careful when buying other brands of APA102C equivalent LED strips - some end up with the pins in a different order and this can be confusing if you have a pre-configured PCB or connection.

These are really SK9822 LEDs as there is no flickering even at the lowest global brightness level. They run at SPI clock speeds of up to 30MHz, very fast! I tried them with APA102 Arduino libraries but they are slow because they use GPIO bit beat. Using hardware SPI is much faster. The strip is soldered in two parts of 0.5 m as described. I think the gap can be made invisible with careful trimming and re-soldering, but I'm not 100% sure.

The last APA102 strip I ordered from Revain turned out to be a fake clone that didn't work well (value-brightness curve wasn't monotonic) , ie not so unusual for APA102 tapes and that's why I prefer to order SK8922 parts now. These appear to be genuine SK8922 parts and work great. Note that the protocol to control them differs slightly from the APA102 protocol - SK8922 requires writing two additional null words in addition to the 2*n null words at the end of each frame. If you use this strip with Hyperion, it will not work correctly with the APA102 driver. For some reason the colors were completely off. I ended up using the P9183 driver, the only one that gave correct color accuracy. Why am I giving this 3 stars? So far I haven't managed to get the light to work 100%.
