Nice and discreet card

Installed yesterday on my Windows 7 x64 computer. The installation process went fine, the only problem was that there was no free SATA port on my computer. So I had to reuse one of my SATA Blue-Ray hard drives and connect it with one end of the supplied male to female extension cable. That way I was able to reconnect my burner. As a computer engineer I do NOT recommend that you install it yourself if you are a beginner as you could leave something unplugged or improperly connected to your…

Great Board!: Network Cards

I just bought a new Dell 8300 when my old Dell fell apart! I wanted USB 3.0 but really didn't want to wait another 3 weeks for it to be built in during Dell manufacturing. I read the reviews on this board and thought I'd try deploying the card myself. I had some concerns putting in a board that needed to be connected to an internal power supply. I can open my computer, plug it in, and shut it down, but not having to plug anything into a power source got me thinking. But knowing Revain's return…

Excellent USB 3.0 PCI E adapter

I have purchased several of these adapters for use with Buffalo DriveStation external hard drives and have been completely satisfied with their performance. With USB 3.0 I get a 3x higher data transfer speed. The upgrade to 3.0 was worth it. Installation went smoothly, even the power cord. No problem. It only took a few minutes to reinsert the card and cable and reattach the computer covers. The instructions are very clear and easy to use. The software is easy to install and requires no…

Buffalo? Added to my "Solid Product Line " folder

I bought this tiny PCI-E card along with a Buffalo 2TB SS USB 3.0 External HD and put this little pup in one Plugged into PCI-E 1X slot and used the power cable (included) to get power from the SATA power cable used by my DVD drive. (Note: The included power cable has a SATA male to SATA female connector which connects to another SATA female connector and finally ends in a 4-pin flex connector to power your new USB 3.0 card. Because I didn't have a spare power supply from my power supply, this…

I love the world of USB 3.0.

I use this card with both the Lexar Professional USB 3.0 LRW300URBNA Dual Slot Reader and the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 750GB USB 2.0 STAA750100 Ultraportable External Hard Drive (Black) with Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Upgrade Cable USB 3.0 is STAE104 and it works as expected (40-50MB transfer speed with 10-50MB TIFF, JPEG and RAW files); the best I ever got from my similar USB 2.0 setup was around 12-16MB). The driver installed perfectly on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and immediately recognized both…

Old Technology Meets New Technology

Bought this card and added it to my system. I don't have any USB 3.0 devices yet, but a Corsair flash drive is coming soon. The card arrived and my first impression was how small it was. Maybe a little longer and wider than a playing card. I don't know what I was expecting but its small size surprised me. Installation was a breeze, even on my Dell Inspiron 546st (Dell OF896N am2 m/b, 4GB DDR2 800, Athlon II x4 620 and Seagate 7200rpm, all stock with no modifications direct from Dell) with a low
