GENUINE high performance radio. It's hard with 4 D cells. good solid simple controls. No multifunctional junk that you can't see in the dark. When you turn it off, it turns itself off, unlike other small radios that can just switch bands instead of turning off and draining your batteries. !

. After playing for a while, the FM frequency goes out and needs to be retuned. AM is VERY difficult to tune in as it comes and goes instead of constant background noise when you can find a station and try to tune in. FM is not much better, very sensitive. The double antenna matching is a joke. The backlight button doesn't work, it stays on all the time, draining the batteries. I'm returning the one I bought.

I've read many online reviews of this radio and despite numerous complaints about crackling and other DSP issues, many claim it's an MW DX unit. NO, THAT IS NOT SO. My device could barely pick up WFAN, 660, from New York and I'm in New Jersey! My old, classic, original GE Superradio blows that away without the need for useless DSP tricks and do-daddy stuff. This radio is a true analogue of the very old Radio Shack that is no longer for sale being offered while mine is at the end of its useful life. UPDATED DECEMBER 31, 2020: This radio has just been tested in the harsh Texas camping environment of extreme temperatures, dust, fog and low humidity during rainy spells and it worked one day and 70 two days in freezing temperatures flawless weeks.
