Like new. - Adhesive Tapes

This is what you need to replace the hard and cracked trim around your RV, 1/2" or 3/4" depending on size. This insert which covers the trim screws will fade and crack over time in the sun, replace to keep it like new.

Use a hair dryer on a cold day.

Vinyl insert fits but I installed it on a cold day and it was very stiff. However, with a hair dryer and a strainer, using the concave end of the wheel. The insert came in very easily and relatively quickly. Good product.

Too stiff to fit

I do not recommend the Camco brand fairing insert. It's extremely rigid and almost impossible to install, instead I bought another brand on Amazon from rvdesigner and it's a soft vinyl. Much easier to install. Installation takes minutes instead of hours with the camco brand.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Repair

HARD TO BEND / NOT TO BUY

When I received this product I initially thought it was old as the vinyl was hard and very difficult to bend. After reading other posts about the Camco brand, I found that seems to be the case. Luckily I also bought the RV Designer brand which was very flexible and easy to install. Save your sanity and choose the RV Designer brand.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Minor issues

Easy to use.: Adhesive tapes

Easy to use. Some soap and water + warm weather = easy. Tucked in one edge as I passed a plastic spatula or straight edge over the opposite edge and applied pressure to slide under the ledge. The mist of soap and water all over the strip made it very easy. It was so easy that my husband was amazed at how quickly I was able to completely replace the old upholstery on the RV we bought. 2001 Nomad Road Runner

  • Great for me
Cons

Worked perfectly. on tape

This item was a good replacement for my old paintwork. It was a bit chilly outside, and folding it down was hard enough to get into the molding. I used a heat gun to heat this up and make it more flexible and it worked great. It's a bit thin so you have to be careful when heating it as it gets hot quickly. It also cooled quickly, but now that it's in place it looks good. It went backwards from what I first thought it would fit, but when I flipped it it fits and holds up great.

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Here are some much-needed instructions.

There were no instructions so I had to learn everything myself. You should know that the window glass replacement tool will help you with that. Use the bowl side of the tool. Once you've gotten four to six feet, you should get comfortable. The wheel groove sits on the edge of this material and maneuvers into place. Put your hand on the camper and don't push the wheel in too deep to avoid the screw heads. Run straight to the path to clean the screw heads. Stabilize again by resting your hand on…

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Unreliable
