We use this cord as the main power cord wherever we plug in an RV. We leave the factory plug in the camper and use it to make the electrical compartment easier to keep clean as we can wipe it off the outside and roll it away from the camper and then plug it into the compartment. We had to use the old one we had a couple of times when our campsite had pedestal issues so instead of moving the rig they let us connect to the next site as it wasn't rented out for the rest of our stay . One of the things I wanted to know when purchasing was the cable type. The description doesn't cover this so I will. I received the STW cable which means the outer shell is thermoplastic and not thermoset. Thermoset material is much more durable than thermoplastic. Also, it is STW (not STOW), so NOT oil resistant. I took this extension cord on a nearly 6000 mile trip with my 2015 Tesla Model S 85D and this extension cord allowed me to easily reach it 240 outlets in 4 friends/family houses we stayed at to charge our car for the night.
