The monitor has been mounted on top of the camera in a shoe rack for a number of years. Sometimes I had problems with it coming off and falling off because the mounting screw came loose when shooting. Thought that would fix the problem. Very happy with the cage. Mounting holes at the top of the handles are also handy for things like flashlights and wireless microphones. The buttons are also useful for panning and tilting the camera. I had no problem with the cradle detaching. Problem solved and
It is very well made with excellent build quality and is lightweight. Adjustable arms and size for monitors. Tons of thread 1/4 20 and 3/8. The only thing I don't like is that there is only one screw holding the support piece that holds the monitors (if you use that and don't have a 1/4 top thread on the monitor) to secure it. I just reinforced it with a threaded metal plate on top for extra support. And if you have a monitor with a battery in the middle, it won't fit unless you're using aโฆ

Loved this cage. Customizable in endless ways. The hex screws holding the grip arms were very tight and the hex wrench lost its edge easily so I had a very hard time getting any of the arms loose. My only concern is that the rubberized grips can get sticky over time, however. Just take a look. The rest of the machined metal structure is pretty solid. For me it was a great purchase.
