Great quality with some annoying aspects.

A consumer note only: I bought this camera a few years ago when Revain was a seller and I did not pay the current list price. Video quality is excellent, storage is large, but there are a few annoying things about this camera. Example: (1) If you want to take more than one photo with the timer, you need to go through several menus to set the timer, and after the first photo is taken, the timer setting you just set will be erased. . This means you have to go through the process again to reset…

Dakota Review: Camera and photo

This camera is an "excellent" piece of equipment. It produces amazing images and will do for the beginner. Sound quality is good when using the internal microphone and better when using a high quality external microphone. Wind noise is easier to control with an external microphone. Taking nature shots in a quiet place is a problem with the sound. Will be discussed in the user manual. The camera picks up machine noise on-camera when there isn't enough noise to transport it off-camera. This also…

I made the right choice!

My wife and I have examined several video cameras. Canon's VIXIA HG 20 reviews had good ratings and the best price compared to others. We've had it for a month now and we've used it a lot. We both agree that we made the best choice. The HG 20 fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to use. It records very clear video and stays sharp in focus even when changing subjects from close to far, when zooming, etc. This was an important feature for us as we tested another camcorder that had focus lag…

It's CANON - you can't go wrong

I got this little baby from Revain about a month ago at a great price. I spent a good couple of hours with it, trying both videos and photos with almost every setting available. Pros: The picture quality is amazing. I assure you that if your budget is under $1,000, you can't do better. Very comfortable, smooth, easy to capture moving subjects and the image stabilizer works quite well. Very intuitive settings and control mode. You don't have to study for hours. If you have reasonable light, the…

Very good and deserves serious attention

PROS: excellent video quality, good size for travel and home, 5+ hours of video on internal hard drive, cheaper than comparable solid state camcorders with internal drive, 10x zoom, easy menu navigation (although I'm used to menus from other Canon camcorders), very easy to use, feels good in the hand, image stabilization is pretty good, HDMI output is handy for watching videos straight away on HDTV , good LCD screen CONS: AVCHD format is good for viewing directly from the camera, but working…

Great camera! Good price!

Pros: Compact design, great picture quality, easy TV connection, easy computer connection, accurate, vivid colors, great sound/audio, ergonomic/comfortable, simple to use, good low light performance. Cons: Short battery life, remote control can be a little fiddly as it doesn't work from any angle, Full HD cable not included (mini HDMI cable sold separately). We just had a baby and wanted to buy a high quality HD camera. I've used video from the camera at home and outdoors and everything has…
