Great camera for every day!

I've been a photographer for almost 25 years and I have more cameras than I care to admit. I use Nikon D5100 and Canon SX40HS as high end cameras but I wanted something I could easily toss around and carry around in my daily event bag. I blog and Facebook and always take photos around town. I've been using the SD700IS for this purpose for a number of years, but since 2006 I thought I'd get something more modern. The A3400is didn't disappoint, it shoots on par with the SX40HS and sometimes can't

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Not what I expected.

If you mainly want to shoot outdoors and in good light, this camera is perfect for you. I bought it hoping for decent low-light performance, especially since it offers a nice bright f2.8 aperture. The camera would certainly not show up there. I had two lights on in my living room and I took a few shots and they both came out very dark and grainy. Just a little better with flash. Another area where I was disappointed is the overall build quality. It's mostly plastic and the screen itself feels…

  • great product
Cons

I love this camera! suitable for digital cameras

I love this camera! I was a bit skeptical about buying it due to the lack of reviews. There aren't many reviews about the camera unless it's fairly famous or new. So I bought it because it was a Mother's Day offer. I've been using it for about a week now and took it to the zoo. It took great pictures and on top of that the video function is fantastic, it looks like a movie when you record it! The only problem with this is that the price skyrocketed after a day or two. The kit with the camera…

The best camera I've ever had.

This is by far one of the best cameras I've ever bought (and I've bought a lot of cameras, each costing a little more than this one. The battery life is really good though. Unfortunately, a proprietary battery required. Image quality is excellent and most settings can still be adjusted despite being point-and-shoot. Where this camera really shines is where the video capture is, like no wonder, light. Frame-rate is smooth and clarity is great. Even the sound is good but the biggest features on…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Only available in white

Don't let the low price fool you. Highly recommended!

This was the second camera I bought. The first was the more expensive Samsung ST200F, which I was quick to return because the user interface was so clunky - it took a long time to get through the menus and options. This camera has consistently had good reviews so I decided to give it a try but wasn't expecting much given the price. I love it! This cheap little camera far exceeds my expectations, takes great pictures, has a touchscreen for quick menu access even in capture mode, and has lots of…

Bag/purse winner

Gave one of these to my wife for Christmas. She used an old A520 (I think), 5 MP, 5x zoom. Terrible screen. But it has a true optical viewfinder. I like it. I love her but bless her heart, she just isn't tech savvy. I had to force an iPod and a MacBook on her. Despite showing signs of her inner geek, she actually asked for a radar detector. I was distracted. The criteria were: very small, light, reasonable number of pixels, good screen. And he knows how to keep it in his purse. Here it is for…

Can't beat the price

I just got this camera yesterday so didn't have much time to play with it. Nonetheless; I took some test shots and played around with the buttons, so here are my first impressions. Warning: I am not a professional photographer. In fact, I bought this camera because I wanted to replace an old 5MP Canon PowerShot camera that technically worked fine, but due to the lack of any kind of image stabilization, my photos kept getting blurry. I wouldn't bother with a new one unless the reviews here are…
