Canon XA15 Professional Camcorder Review

This camcorder is the best! Easy to use and great sound and video quality. We do a lot of video productions these days and we have 5 of them.

This camera is excellent in every way! The SDI connector is great for low light recording and allows connection to a mixer or an external recording device (Atomos Blade etc.), the picture is clear and the bit rate / frame rate is sufficient. I've been in production for many years and this camera outperforms the older, larger cameras. Buy with confidence.

I used XA20, XA30 and XA35. I decided to buy 2 XA15. Absolutely love these cameras. They have an excellent zoom, good for low light (I shoot indoor conferences and events). The XA15's SDI output is a great connection that I need to go live. There's also an HDMI output, which I don't use. The main physical difference I can see between this and the other XA range is that the screen is a bit smaller. This is not a problem at all, just a physical difference.

We bought this to replace the Canon XA-25. We need an SDI HD output as we are streaming 300ft live over SDI coax into the overflow area and also recording to MP4 for YouTube upload and editing.
