Description of πŸ”§ Cardone 66-5235HD Heavy-Duty CV Drive Axle Shaft for Severe-Duty Applications

Proprietary engineering processes ensure that all CV Drive Axles meet OE form, fit and function. CV Drive Axle part numbers with an β€œHD” suffix are severe-duty applications and include a thermoplastic outboard boot for increased life and durability versus a traditional neoprene boot. An axle retaining nut is supplied with every unit for a hassle-free installation, due to the likelihood that the original retaining nut is worn or stripped. CV Drive Axle measurements are validated after assembly to ensure a proper fit; Threads are precision rolled to ensure proper fit when axle nut is installed. Boot clamps are pneumatically crimped, creating a perfect seal between the boot and housing.

Arrived damaged on CV (constant speed)

Both the first CV axle and the second replacement CV axle arrived with damaged dust seals and had to be returned. The product is poorly packaged. Ex works.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Only available in white

Disappointed I hope it was just a dust boot ripped by some lucky accident

A bit of a disappointment Installation went well the axle looks good but the inner boot is 2 months later cracked installation, if the guarantee does not apply then 1 star goes away because I bought from Amazon, very very disappointed that after only 2 months you have to remove the axle again, and that with normal daily driving on the so-called HD version of the axis.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I don't remember but something was

Toyota fj cruiser axles that didn't even last a year

Still working I'll let you know if anything happens. Revain doesn't have a lifetime guarantee because they only return and replace so they couldn't help me. They gave me the manufacturer's number to call and ask about the warranty.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Intervals

Item arrived damaged, dust seals were bent on all sides and the rubber seal was damaged causing oil to leak out of the front differential BUT it deserved 4 stars for solving my problem. The old shaft was clogged and worn out by water ingress. This stock has good reliable boots and works well. Will be updated if something goes wrong.

Pros
  • 1 year trial period
Cons
  • Some minor issues

The boots didn't go for two months

Delivered on September 9th now on October 31st and both shoes on the passenger were torn and spattered with grease. The inner case on the driver's side looks like it's about to tear. Needless to say I'm not happy. The last few of them I put 40,000 miles on that still fell off weren't very long. I don't ride off-road so it's just disappointing for everyday use. The price is ok, but not if the boots only last a month or two πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ And of course I'm already overdue for the return date.

  • nice thing

Good deal for what you pay

I bought two of these to replace previous CV axles in my 207,000 mile 4Runner. I had just balanced and changed tires at 263,000 miles today when the technician advised that there was a crack in the passenger side inner trunk. There is no click yet, so there is still time until the exchange. I'd say it's a pretty good deal all in all. Of that, I put about 55,000 miles in two years on a 4Runner with a 2.5 inch lift and one summer on heavy 4 wheels. Can I recommend them instead of the factory…

Good for aftermarket CV axles.

I have to say right away that this axle is far from the quality of the Toyota CV OEM axle. If you can afford to buy a $380 factory replacement, please stop reading this review and buy it. If you're like me you're probably looking for an inexpensive alternative to a factory axle and are most likely planning on replacing it yourself. If this is your only route I would suggest this axle to most other aftermarket alternatives. I've put about 3000 miles on this particular axle so far and it hasn't…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
