Scanned instructions included in this review

I couldn't find a copy of the instructions anywhere so I scanned them and attached them to this review. I won't be drilling holes in my support beams, instead I'll run 2 x 4's through a couple of beams (perpendicular) and hang a hoist on them. I'll post another photo when I'm done and update this review. There are also some good videos others have made on YouTube showing how to run a rope over pulleys.

Sturdy but could be better

Installation was easy, the product is heavy and looks solid but the rope frayed easily. I installed it and lifted a Thule 614 Medium (30 pounds) and the rope frayed on both sides. In the third photo in the middle you can see that the rope is frayed. I don't see how the manufacturer's stated weight of 100 pounds won't do more damage to the rope. The supplied straps fit the cargo box very well. Everything else and I don't think the straps would be stretched out so I'm happy with that. This wouldโ€ฆ

I love these kayak straps!

We were trying to build something to keep our kayaks outside at our lake house and it must have been insanely expensive and then I found it! We've started attaching them to a few trees in our backyard, but our deck is just at the level where our yard tilts to hang them underneath. I bought 3 of these for 2 10ft kayaks and 1 8ft. They came with screw hooks and the straps are very heavy nylon. So far they have held up very well. Hangs kayaks on their sides so they don't fill up with water. Veryโ€ฆ

Does the job! for Kayaking

I received the CargoLoc 32524 kayak wall straps. Must point out as reviews on this and their pulley system seem to be mixed. However, the wall mount is very easy to assemble if you have the right size drill and bit. Just drill two holes and screw the hook. Then hook one end of each strap into the hook and place the kayak on the straps. Finally, pull up the other end of the straps and hook them onto the hooks. Seriously, hanging a kayak couldn't be easier. Or maybe? Unlike their pulley systemโ€ฆ

Easy to install seems strong enough for a roof box

I bought a roof box and this lift was the perfect storage solution for my roof box. The hardest part of the installation was finding the bolt behind the ceiling panel. I had to purchase a box (5 pack) of 3 "long screws" - the ones that came with this item were only 2" and couldn't drive the bolt in. Once this installation was smooth and easy enough. I deliberately just let it float above the roof of my car as insurance in case something fails like straps, hooks, ceiling mounts etc to keep theโ€ฆ

Universal Sports Lift

We bought this lift to hold our Yakima Skybox 18 and it does the job perfectly. Skybox is not particularly heavy, but it is uncomfortable. With the CargoLoc garage lift, the skybox can be easily lifted off the ground and stowed safely under the garage ceiling. The supplied hardware is of good quality. The included 1/4" x 49' rope tends to wear out fairly quickly and will likely need replacing early. And the pulleys are just plastic - not heavy at all. The book on that is still open. Notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Expandable

I have three of these brackets for mounting kayaks to the garage ceiling. Works great, but the rope breaks easily in the lock. May need to be replaced after prolonged use. I made two modifications for the installation: 1. I installed directly onto the 2x4 and then attached the 2x4 to the ceiling joists with 4 screws (not included). This was required for mounting perpendicular to the ceiling joists as the fasteners are designed to fit directly into the joists and align with the joists. (Noteโ€ฆ

  • Decent performance
Cons

Ideal for Thule Force XL 625 roof rack!

I bought this garage lift to hang a cargo box on the roof of my Thule Force XL 625. I finished my garage ceiling. Installation was relatively easy and the product worked great! I originally planned to build my own lifting system until I found it at Revain. For the price I paid for it I couldn't have done anything. My garage ceiling is 10-8 inches. The Thule roof box hangs approximately 3 feet from the ceiling when raised to its maximum height. The straps that came with it worked great. Thereโ€ฆ

Good quality, good buy.

I was very happy to find an HD garage lift that can lift up to 100 pounds as I needed to lift and move a 90 pound tandem tricycle to make life around the house to do a little less. overloaded. The product was well packaged and the parts arranged to facilitate inventory and upon closer inspection the parts proved suitable for the task at hand. The instructions were simple but the challenge was installing to a finished ceiling that would safely support the load. After assembly (see attachedโ€ฆ
