Fits my cutter perfectly. It's actually 14.75" long, but that's the right size for a 12" cutter. Appears to be very good quality. Considering that you actually get 4 cutting surfaces by swapping them top to bottom and flipping 2 more, I expect this cutting mat to last for many years (as does the one it replaced).

With one of these small insert mats you can work with your cutting tool for a long time. If one side is completely cut off, you can flip it over and reinstall it for longer life. They come in two packages. Since rugs last a long time, the trick is to remember where you keep spares so you don't accidentally order another pair. A good product. Makes the cutter work much better when the mat is in good condition.

The My Carl Paper Cutter is perfect for my small office needs. I love that functional parts like these cutting mats and knives are interchangeable and it's so easy to swap out - no tools required! I've learned that knives are much more durable than mats. So before you blame a knife for poor performance, replace the mat. The mats are inexpensive and easy to replace, and the mats are reversible, which doubles their lifespan!

I'm so disappointed I cut tons of cardboard. I went to replace my blade with a new set and the first blade of the two sets I put in had either excess glue or metal resulting in jagged edges on the cardboard with every cut. Then I put in the second blade from the 2 pack and all my parts have a slight curve or deviate from it. Now I'm not sure if it's related to the blade (I think) or if it's related to the new mat I bought at the same time. :(

I bought a CARL paper cutter about 20 years ago and recently got to the point where I needed a new one. . I've tried wire cutters with a tiny zipper-like blade, but didn't like the style. If the Carl RM-12 paper cutter starts making sloppy cuts and you have to sand every cut, be sure to replace the cutting mat. At first I changed the blades, thinking they were dull, but the result was the same torn edges. After replacing the cutting mat, my cutter was like new again! As a greetings card maker, I rely heavily on my professional Carl cutting plotter and wouldn't want to be without it for even a day or two, so I bought a set of two cutting mats to have a spare.
