Waterproof Carson BlackWave 10x25mm 🔍 Monocular (WM-025) for Enhanced Outdoor Viewing Review

Not as good as my Zeiss monocular, but it costs $400 and is kept in a safe. They remain in the truck under the seat. The exit pupil has a well-defined border (the best indicator of overall optical quality), excellent design and never fogs up. I just wish it was BAK4 as the light gathering ability is low.

I like that this monocular focuses closer than many others available. Image quality is quite good at any distance. It's a little larger than I expected but not as clunky. The pouch that comes with it is nice and has a sturdy belt loop. Overall I am satisfied with this product and can recommend it.

available Optics are fine. Narrow field of view. Not robust like the Carson Binoculars ED we just received. Accurate focus is difficult to achieve and the focus ring was tilted when it arrived, lasting only 3 limited actual field uses as expected before the eyepiece broke. Certainly not as good as the discontinued Minox 8x monocular I have. Very disappointed.

This monocular strikes a good balance of size and function. I wanted something small enough to take with me and strong enough to be useful. I've tried four different monoculars and I love this one. It appears to be the real 10X. I've tried others that claim 10x magnification, but objects appear smaller than this and smaller than this block when viewed side-by-side. My image is clear all around.

The picture is soft. Halfway is better, but not so much. Suitable for emergencies, no exact readings. ** Review Update: We recommend submitting reviews early. This is the ideal case. I wanted a small and light monocular to carry in my mtn bike backpack. Small and light is what I wanted. There are some that cost around $60 and I would buy them if they weighed no more than 6 ounces due to the rubber armor. Which seems stupid. I am legally blind and always carry a monocular with me for seeing signs or even hiking. I wanted something decent but cheap because no matter how many times I use it it will fall off and hit things or get lost. It is a matter of time. Their quality far exceeded my expectations. It was half the price of a similar Vortex model, I had a Vortex RMR it was good but I think my Trijicon is significantly better and more expensive so I don't understand why the Vortex is so old has become price of monocular? Clear field of view. The focusing mechanism is a bit tight so don't flinch, but it works great. It is a very comfortable size and appears to be 10 times larger than advertised. If it survives wear and use, there's nothing to complain about. Received it today and am very happy with it. Mine focuses to less than a meter, but your experience may vary based on your vision. I could read the very fine print on a prescription bottle from about five feet away, so the glass was clear and bright, especially for this price point. I didn't test the waterproofing, but I went outside and looked at the microwave tower on the hill about a mile away and it was easy to focus and observe.
